These succulent plants with prickly stems are well-adapted to arid conditions and can be found in different shapes and sizes, adding a unique element to the Mediterranean flora.

9. Violets: Violets are small, colorful flowers that can be found throughout the Mediterranean. They come in various shades, including purple, blue, yellow, and white, and often have a sweet fragrance.

10. Periwinkles: Periwinkles, also known as Vinca, are low-growing plants with glossy green leaves and flowers in shades of pink, purple, or white. They are commonly used as ground cover in gardens and are well-adapted to Mediterranean climate conditions.

11. Alpine Pasque Flower: The Alpine Pasque Flower is a perennial plant with showy purple flowers that bloom in early spring. It is native to the higher altitudes of the Mediterranean region and is often found in rocky or mountainous areas.
