What lessons does the legend of King Arthur teach us? Are there any modern day lessons that we can still learn from?

Here is my post from Jan. 11.

"My opinion on why it appeals... These were some of the first tales of 'chivalry'...Heroes fighting to right wrongs. The society of that day had as many "evil doers" as we do today...and we are looking for heroes still today to "right those wrongs". We have always loved the stories of simple people who will go out and dare the impossible. We would like to be as "chivalrous" as they were. In addition these were supposedly real people, at least there is some basis in history.... and they brought the first footstep in polite society to barbarian England. We feel that they set the pattern for whom we were to become.

Think of modern heroes. What about Martin Luther King? JFK? What about the first female astronaut? Who are some other people who have taken on the "status quo" and made a difference? What problems today need heroes?

The message I got from the movie is; Our DESTINY will find us (in its own designed way from the higher power) and try to help us in the initial stages. If you accept your destiny, well and go for you. You will come across more help along the way. If you don't accept it, there are some repercussions because of the choice you decided to pick.

The "sword" which is the most powerful object, represents "YOUR MIND". To keep this short, since a word to the wise is enough, "Know how to control your brain, and the world/goal/dream is yours."

The legend of King Arthur teaches us various lessons that are still relevant even in modern times. Here are some key lessons:

1. Leadership and Good Governance: King Arthur's story often emphasizes the importance of a wise and just ruler. It teaches us about the qualities of a good leader, such as integrity, humility, and fairness. These lessons can be applied to modern-day leaders and aspiring leaders in various contexts.

2. Loyalty and Friendship: The Arthurian legend highlights the value of loyalty and true friendship. The bond between Arthur and his knights, especially the Round Table, demonstrates the power of united and dedicated companionship. This lesson reminds us of the importance of trust, support, and loyalty in our relationships, be it personal or professional.

3. Quest for Justice and Nobility: King Arthur and his knights embark on quests to fight injustice and uphold the ideals of chivalry and honor. This aspect of the legend teaches us about the pursuit of justice and the need to stand up for what is right. It encourages individuals to act nobly and make a positive impact in their communities.

4. The Consequences of Moral Failings: The Arthurian legend also explores the consequences of moral failings, such as betrayals and dishonesty. Characters like Lancelot and Mordred teach us about the destructive nature of disloyalty, deceit, and the importance of making ethical choices.

These lessons from the legend of King Arthur are timeless, and they can still inspire and guide us today in our personal, professional, and societal lives. Remembering these lessons can help us strive for better leadership, build stronger relationships, seek justice, and make morally sound decisions.
