The ball is thrown froma height of 10 meters with an initial upward velocity of 3.0m/s. How long does it take to land on the ground? What is its maximum height?
i know the formula is d=v1t+1/2at^2 but i do not know what else to do.

The formula in this case is
height = v1*t - (1/2)gt^2 + 10
Set height = 0 and solve for t.
g = 9.8 m/s^2
Maximum height occurs when t = v1/g
It will be Y = V^2/(2g)
above the height where it was released.
