effective openers to a sales letter may include all of the following except: a. a series of questions that intrigues the reader and gets her thinking. b. a starting statement that captures the reader's attention. c. a direct suggestion that the reader purchase a new and innovative product. d, an anecdote that builds suspense and makes the reader curious for more infomation. i know it isnt a.

The only "different" answer must be the right one.

Could be b or d -- what does your text say?

And, really? You're taking a BUSINESS communication class but don't use capital letters ... at all?

i know its not a my text states that a series of questions can be an effective opener. i know b is wrong is well because startling statements can be used to capture a readers attention so im leaning on choice c or d.

I vote for c. It's the only one that doesn't mention getting the reader's interest.

im guessing it has to be c.

i agree with you ms. sue

To determine which of the options is an effective opener for a sales letter, let's evaluate each one:

a. A series of questions that intrigues the reader and gets her thinking: This is often an effective opener as it engages the reader and encourages them to reflect on their needs or wants. However, you stated that it is not the correct answer.

b. A starting statement that captures the reader's attention: This is a commonly used and effective technique to immediately capture the reader's interest and make them want to continue reading.

c. A direct suggestion that the reader purchase a new and innovative product: While making a direct suggestion can be effective at times, it may come across as too pushy or salesy. It's typically best to build a relationship with the reader before directly suggesting a purchase.

d. An anecdote that builds suspense and makes the reader curious for more information: Using an anecdote can be an effective way to engage the reader emotionally and pique their curiosity. It allows you to tell a story that relates to your product or service, making the reader want to know more.

Based on the options provided and the information you provided, the correct answer is c. A direct suggestion that the reader purchase a new and innovative product.
