simplify:

7y-3y-x^2+4x^2

how do i add x^2 to 4x^2?
what will the result be?

i know that 2x^2-x^2 = x^2....but not how to do the above

4 x^2 - 1 x^2 = 3 x^2

7 y - 3 y = 4 y

so
3 x^2 + 4 y

omg! thank you! i get it now! :D

Good ! You are welcome.

To add x^2 to 4x^2, you simply combine the coefficients of x^2. In this case, the coefficient of x^2 is 1 (since there is an implied 1 coefficient in front of x^2) and the coefficient of 4x^2 is 4. Adding them together gives you 1 + 4 = 5x^2.

Therefore, the result of adding x^2 to 4x^2 is 5x^2.
