Are the symboles of dimocracy important? should the government make more effort to maintain and explainthese symboles?

What symbols of democracy? I can think of no symbols that are unique to democracies except a voter registration card, and even some non democracies have those (one party countries).

this is 2 personal oppinion questions; 1. 1. Given the list of "symbols" and their curent physical conditions are they being neglected?
2. Are the concepts represented by the symbols being transfered to the young well enough?

It might help to know why symbols as a whole are important. I searched Google under the key words "symbol importance (democracy)" to get these possible sources:

I hope this helps a little more. Thanks for asking.
