x=9/10

4x+y=3

4(9/10) +y= 3

y = -0.6

i think you are wrong because my homework is online its a program and it says that you get y=-7/12 which i am really confused with this part i have done like three problems back to back and i still get this part worng

4(9/10) +y= 3

(36/10) + y = 3

3 6/10 + y = 3

y = 3 - 3 6/10
y = -6/10 = -3/5 = = 0.6

I get the same answer as Huur. . .

Is it possible that your program is wrong?

To solve the equation 4x + y = 3, where x = 9/10, we can substitute the value of x into the equation and then solve for y.

Substituting x = 9/10:

4(9/10) + y = 3

Now we multiply 4 with 9/10:

(36/10) + y = 3

To combine the fractions, we need to have a common denominator. In this case, the denominator is 10, so we can multiply 3 (the whole number) with 10/10 to have a fraction with a denominator of 10:

(36/10) + y = 30/10

Now we can combine the numerators:

36 + y = 30

To isolate y, subtract 36 from both sides of the equation:

y = 30 - 36

Simplifying the right side:

y = -6

So the solution to the equation 4x + y = 3, with x = 9/10, is y = -6.
