would it be 1/4? I don't know how to do this?
To get x by itself, multiply by the reciprocal of -5/6, which would be -6/5.
Whatever operation you do to one side of an equation you must do to the other side as well:
-6/5 * (-5/6)x = -6/5 * -7/8
x = 42/40 = 21/20
Let's check:
(-5/6)(21/20) = -7/8
-7/8 = -7/8
