for h(x)=5-4x, determine the input for x when the output of h(x) is -11

i have tried to answer this question so many times , but i cant figure it out

5 - 4 x = -11

- 4 x = -11 -5

- 4 x = -16 Divide both sides with - 4

- 4 x / - 4 x = - 16 / - 4

x = 4

Proof:

h ( x ) = 5 - 4 x = 5 - 4 * 4 = 5 - 16 = - 11

5 - 4 x = -11

- 4 x = -11 -5

- 4 x = -16 Divide both sides with - 4

- 4 x / - 4 = - 16 / - 4

x = 4

To determine the input for x when the output of h(x) is -11, we need to solve the equation h(x) = -11.

Given that the function h(x) = 5 - 4x, substitute -11 in place of h(x):

-11 = 5 - 4x

To isolate the term with x, we can start by subtracting 5 from both sides:

-11 - 5 = -4x

Simplifying further:

-16 = -4x

Next, divide both sides of the equation by -4 to solve for x:

-16 / -4 = x

This simplifies to:

4 = x

Therefore, the input for x when the output of h(x) is -11 is x = 4.
