If you had to argue the benefits of wind energy, what would they be? and What are the risks? can you please answer these question in 120 words or more Thank you.
Benefits and risks are not opposites so you will need to be careful how you answer this. 120 words is a very low word limit!
Risk is a combination of out come and probability. Let's look at a person being killed by a blade from wind turbine. These do fail from time to time but the probability of someone being killed is very low because wind turbines are largely located offshore or in remote areas with very low to zero population. Thus the risk of death is low.
Another risk you might look at are those associated with dependent or common cause failures. For example if we are to rely on the power from a wind farm of say 20 turbines that have all been built to the same design, from components of the same date of manufacture, all of which are maintained by the same small group of engineers there is an enhanced risk of multiple failures occurring at the same time, or within very short periods of time.
