Answer each question below. Answers should be at least 100 words per question. Answers should be in your own words. Any direct quotes must be properly identified.

Each answer should include at least one citation for a credible, academic source that you have received your information from. (While you can use dictionaries if you wish, they will not count toward the academic source that you need to provide.) At the end of the assessment, you should add a reference page that lists each of the sources you used (Do not put the full references with the answers. Only the citations should appear there, with the full references in a reference list at the end of the assignment.) Use the Short Form Writing Style Guide to format the citations and references. If you have questions on whether a source is academically credible, you can review the information from week 2 or I’m always happy to answer questions.

College-level writing is expected for each response.

2. What are some of the controversial issues related to video games? What changes has the gaming industry made to address some of these issues?

To answer this question, you will need to conduct research on copyright and its ethical and legal issues.

Start by understanding what copyright is, which is the legal protection given to the original work of authors, including books, music, films, and other creative expressions. It grants exclusive rights to the author to control the use and distribution of their work.

To find information about the ethical and legal issues of copyright online, I recommend using the university library's databases, such as JSTOR or ProQuest, to search for peer-reviewed journal articles on the topic. You can also search for books and scholarly sources on the subject.

Look for articles that discuss the ethical considerations of copyright infringement, piracy, and fair use. Consider the ethical implications of using copyrighted materials without permission or proper attribution. Look into the legal consequences of copyright infringement, including potential fines or legal action.

Additionally, explore the challenges that arise in the digital age, such as the ease of copying and distributing copyrighted content online. Consider the ethical implications of sharing copyrighted materials without the author's consent.

Remember to cite your sources properly using the Short Form Writing Style Guide. At the end of your assessment, include a reference page listing all the sources you used.
