POINTS A, B, AND C ARE COLLINEAR. IF AB=7AM AND BC =13CM WHAT IS AC ANSWER

asked by BIAO
  1. Please do not type in capitals it is hard to read and is considered to be shouting.

If the points are co-linear then there are three possible arrangements

    1. ABC
    2. ACB
    3. BAC

if AB=7 cm and BC = 17 cm then arrangement 2 is not possible because 7cm is not greater than 13 cm

    In arrangement 1
    A 7 cm B 13 cm C

    so AC= 20 cm

    In arrangement 3

    B 7 cm A 7 ??x?? C and BC = 13 cm

    so AC = 6 cm
