Can someone please tell me what they mean by "Measuring Lines in cm - exact"?

The lines are not in exact centimeters. One line measures 1 & 1/8 inches.

Things get brought home and we (the parents) have to try and figure out what things mean to help with homework.

I have to learn things myself first, then try and explain to my child.
