I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where I could find linear data sets to use for my statistics paper. I'm having a problem finding something that I can open or even view on my computer. I have a mac and would be using numbers to to the report.....Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I have an iMac too. I searched Google under the key words "linear data sets" to get these possible sources:

Sure! There are several websites and resources where you can find linear data sets for your statistics paper. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Government Data Websites: Many government agencies around the world provide open access to a wide range of datasets. For example, you can visit data.gov, which provides access to various datasets from U.S. government agencies. You can search for datasets related to various topics that may include linear data.

2. Academic Databases: Academic databases like JSTOR, PubMed, or Google Scholar often have datasets available for research purposes. These datasets can provide you with reliable and well-documented linear data. Make sure to check if the datasets have any usage restrictions or require permissions.

3. Data Repositories: There are dedicated data repositories where researchers and organizations share their datasets. One popular repository is Kaggle (www.kaggle.com), where you can find a wide range of datasets submitted by the Kaggle community. You can search for datasets based on your specific requirements.

To open and view these datasets on your Mac, you can use software like Numbers, which is part of the iWork suite on Apple devices. Numbers is a spreadsheet application similar to Microsoft Excel and is capable of opening various file formats commonly used for data sets, including CSV (comma-separated values) files.

You can download the desired dataset file from the chosen website or repository, and then open it directly in the Numbers application by double-clicking on the file or using the "Open with" option in the application menu.

Remember to always ensure that the chosen dataset is appropriate for your statistics paper and that you properly cite and attribute the source of the data in your paper's references section.
