Please help me on my science homework....Motor A uses 1000 joules of energy to move 200 newtons of force a distance of 3 meters. Motor B uses 1200 joules of energy to do the same job. What is the difference in percent efficiency between Motor A and Motor B?

Percent efficiency= workdone/energy used *100

You are given the energy used and the work done (Force*distance) for both machines.

i don't understand where is the workdone and the energy?

In this problem, the work done refers to the amount of work performed by the motors, which is calculated by multiplying the force exerted by the distance traveled. The energy used refers to the amount of energy consumed by the motors, which is given in joules in the problem.

For Motor A:
Force = 200 newtons
Distance = 3 meters
Energy Used = 1000 joules
Work Done = Force * Distance = 200 N * 3 m = 600 joules

For Motor B:
Force = 200 newtons
Distance = 3 meters
Energy Used = 1200 joules
Work Done = Force * Distance = 200 N * 3 m = 600 joules

Now that we have the work done and energy used for both motors, we can calculate the percent efficiency.

Percent Efficiency = (Work Done / Energy Used) * 100

For Motor A:
Percent Efficiency = (600 joules / 1000 joules) * 100 = 60%

For Motor B:
Percent Efficiency = (600 joules / 1200 joules) * 100 = 50%

To find the difference in percent efficiency between Motor A and Motor B, you can subtract the percent efficiency of Motor B from the percent efficiency of Motor A.

Difference in Percent Efficiency = Percent Efficiency of Motor A - Percent Efficiency of Motor B

Difference in Percent Efficiency = 60% - 50% = 10%

Therefore, the difference in percent efficiency between Motor A and Motor B is 10%.
