Hi

Look, I'm stuck. I've been trying to get an idea all week. The last thing that I want to do is use a powerpoint as my visual aid. In fact i've removed it from even being considered. At one point I thought about doing a video confrence or asking people-on-the-street what they thought about a specific topic. Only both of these things wouldn't work with a presentation on the Warsaw Pact and NATO. I also thought about presenting my speech in RPG as if I were a teacher but my parents said that would be a bad idea.

I am so stuck. I need an idea asap and all the websites I look at just tell me to be innovative. I've tried being innovative! ITs not working!

Please, are there any ideas that would work?

Thanks
Em

Writeacher has tried to help you with this and you've rejected her ideas.

I've been retired for 16 years, but I used old-fashioned slides to illustrate lessons I presented to my classes. I know little about modern technology for presentations.

I suggest you face the fact that you cannot be innovative on this assignment.

Hi

I didn't mean to reject Writeachers idea's, I'm sorry.
I really would like to do something different for my presentation and I don't feel that a powerpoint could really fulfill the criteria. I did have a look at the links Writeteacher gave me but I didn't find what i needed.
My real problem lies in how to present the speech - the mode. Usually I just write up like a report then ensure I can speak it. This assignment demands that I use a different format. This assignment is also crucial regarding my exit result.
If you, Writeteacher or any other teachers have any ideas about how I could try and do this it would be much appreciated. If not I'll still keep trying.
Thank-you very much
Em

Never mind, I HAVE found a way to be innovative. I'll have a photo of the then president of the United States on a screen. I'll ask him why he signed NATO. I will edit audio of him speaking to create a 'reason'. Then I'll "talk" to Kruschev. I will then turn around and say. Here's why this Really happened. Do you think that will work?

Great idea!

Thank-you

Hi Em,

I understand how frustrating it can be when you're looking for ideas and hitting a roadblock. Sometimes, being innovative can feel like a daunting task. However, let's break it down and explore some alternative ideas that might work for your presentation on the Warsaw Pact and NATO.

1. Multimedia Presentation: Instead of a traditional PowerPoint, consider creating a multimedia presentation using tools like Prezi, Adobe Spark, or Google Slides. These tools offer dynamic and engaging visual elements that can bring your topic to life without relying solely on text-based slides.

2. Infographics: You could create an infographic that visually represents key information about the Warsaw Pact and NATO. Infographics are a great way to present complex information in a concise and visually appealing manner. Tools like Canva and Piktochart can help you design professional-looking infographics.

3. Timeline: Create a timeline to show the historical development and key events of the Warsaw Pact and NATO. You can use tools like TimelineJS or Tiki-Toki to create interactive and visually appealing timelines.

4. Debate or Role-play: Instead of presenting as a teacher in an RPG format, you could consider organizing a debate or role-play activity involving the Warsaw Pact and NATO. Assign different roles to your classmates, such as diplomats or military officials, and engage in a structured discussion or simulation to explore various perspectives.

5. Case Studies: Choose specific events or conflicts related to the Warsaw Pact and NATO and present them as case studies. Analyze the causes, consequences, and implications of these events, and make connections to the broader context of the Cold War.

6. Primary Source Analysis: Dive into primary sources such as speeches, documents, or photographs related to the Warsaw Pact and NATO, and analyze them in your presentation. This approach can provide an authentic and compelling context for your audience.

Remember, the key is to think creatively and find a method that suits your topic and your own abilities. Good luck with your presentation, and I hope these alternative ideas help you spark some inspiration!
