I disagree.

So now I'm thinking a but i think i'll read a little more on the subject as i'm still confused as the fluid intellegence says 'the ability to analyze novel problems, identify patterns and relationships that underpin these problems and the extrapolation of these using logic' and that's what i thought the question required.

You could be right. However, crystallized intelligence is tested on the IQ tests' verbal parts. This question about the cat and dog is a prime example of the verbal part of these tests.

I agree with Ms. Sue.

To determine how a cat and a dog are alike, we don't need "crystallized intelligence," which refers to acquired knowledge and skills. "Intrapersonal intelligence," the ability to understand oneself, is also unrelated to identifying similarities between a cat and a dog. "Eastern intelligence" does not seem relevant here either, as it is not a widely recognized intelligence term.

The most appropriate option is "c) fluid intelligence." Fluid intelligence refers to the ability to solve new problems, adapt to new situations, and think abstractly. In this case, identifying similarities between a cat and a dog requires the ability to compare and contrast their characteristics and behaviors. This involves exercising fluid intelligence to identify common aspects like being mammals, having fur, having four legs, and being domesticated animals. Thus, the answer is c) fluid intelligence.
