Raise the quantity in parentheses to the indicated exponent, and simplify the resulting expression. Express answers with positive exponents (-33xy^-1/66x^0y^-3)^2

This is the answer i am getting from TRYING to follow my online book. Please Help Me. Thank You!
-33/66*x^-3/y^-1y^-3
-3*y^3/x^-1=3y^3/x^3

I would rethink this. Lets do it in parts:

whole numbers( -33/66)^2= (-1/2)^2= 1/4
x values (x/x^0)^2= x^2
y values (y^-1/Y-3)^2=(y^3-1)^2= y^4

overall: x^2 * y^4 /4

Thanks for your help. I wasn't even using the ^2 outside the parenthesis. Thank YOu!

To solve this problem, we need to follow the rules of exponents and simplify the expression step by step.

Step 1: Start by applying the exponent to each term inside the parentheses.
(-33xy^(-1)/66x^0y^(-3))^2

Since any number raised to the power of 0 is 1, x^0 simplifies to 1.
(-33xy^(-1)/66y^(-3))^2

Step 2: Simplify the exponents. Remember, when we divide two terms with the same base, we subtract the exponents.
(-33x/y)(y^3/66)^2

In this case, y^-1 * y^-3 = y^(-1-3) = y^-4.

Step 3: Simplify the constants and raise the term to the power of 2.
(-33x/y)(y^-4)(1/66)^2

Step 4: Simplify the constants.
-33/66 = -1/2.

Step 5: Multiply the remaining terms.
(-1/2)(x)(y^-4)(1/66)^2

Step 6: Simplify further if possible.
(-1/2)(x)(y^-4)(1/66)(1/66)

Step 7: Multiply the constants.
(-1/2)(x)(1/4356)(y^-4)

Step 8: Combine the variables.
-xy^-4/8712

Therefore, the simplified expression is -xy^-4/8712.
