1. 1 pace = 0.9 m
37 paces = x
Cross multiply to get:
x=37*0.9/1=?

When you cross multiply, multiply the complete diagonal (the one occupied by two numbers, i.e. 0.9 and 37) and divide by the number diagonally across from x, i.e. 1.

Similarly,
1 pace = 0.9 m
y paces = 122 m.
Cross multiply to get the answer.
