what is the solution of comparison of 2(x-y)=14 and x+2y=-2

  1. 2(x-y)=14 ---1

    x+2y=-2 ---2

    from 1 expand brackets

    2x-2y=14 ---3

    add equaltions 2 and 3

    x+2y=-2
    2x-2y=14

    x+2y+2x-2y=-2+14

    3x=12

    hence find x, then substitute value for x in one of the original equations to find y
