Okay I am creating A Title page for Amelia Douglas, and since she's a Metis, I wanted to paste a Metis flag somewhere on the page, but as I searched for a Metis flag on Google, 2 different colored flags came up, one was blue and one was red. I read about them, and it said that the red flag represented people who worked for the HBC and the Blue flag represented people who worked for the NWC. Amelia didn't work for any company, but her husband worked for the NWC company, but then after he started working for the HBC, so Im confused on which flag to use:S

Use both flags.

Oh okay yeah that's what I was thinking too, I guess both flags represent her.

When it comes to representing the Metis flag, it is important to consider the historical context and symbolism associated with it. The two-colored flags you came across, one blue and one red, are indeed historically significant and represent the two major fur trading companies in Canada: the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) and the North West Company (NWC).

The blue flag is associated with the NWC, while the red flag is associated with the HBC. These colors were used to differentiate the Metis employees who worked for each respective company during the fur trade era. The flags acted as symbols of identity for the Metis people associated with each company.

In the case of Amelia Douglas, since she did not directly work for either company, there isn't a specific flag that represents her individual affiliation. However, since her husband worked for both the NWC and the HBC, you could choose to represent both flags to acknowledge both aspects of her family's history.

Alternatively, you could also consider using a more general Metis flag rather than specific company flags. The Metis infinity flag, which has a blue background with a white infinity symbol, is often used as a unifying symbol for the entire Metis community. This could be a suitable option to represent Amelia's Metis heritage without focusing on her husband's specific associations with the fur trading companies.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you and the overall design concept you have for the title page. Consider the historical significance and draw inspiration from the available options to create a visually appealing and meaningful representation of Amelia Douglas's Metis heritage.
