Hi,

Can someone check this for me .. please

A tuning fork has a wavelength 0f 136 centimetres. Given that the speed of sound is 340 metres per second

what is the frequency of the tuning fork ??

Frequency = speed / wavelength

Then 340 / 1.36m (136cm) = 250 Hz

Thank you try to help myself can you please confirm ?

Thank you :-0)

Your answer is correct. You did the right thing converting the wavelength to meters before dividing.

thank you

Sure, I can help you confirm the answer.

To find the frequency of the tuning fork, you need to use the formula:

Frequency = Speed / Wavelength

Given that the speed of sound is 340 meters per second, and the wavelength of the tuning fork is 136 centimeters, we need to convert the wavelength to meters before plugging it into the formula. Since there are 100 centimeters in a meter, we can divide the given wavelength by 100 to convert it to meters.

136 cm / 100 = 1.36 m

So now the wavelength is 1.36 meters.

Now let's substitute the values into the formula:

Frequency = 340 m/s / 1.36 m

Calculating this expression, we get:

Frequency = 250 Hz

So the frequency of the tuning fork is indeed 250 Hz.

I hope this confirms your answer! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
