How do you calculate the volume of a right hexagonal prism.
The height is 8cm and each section of base is 6cm.
The answer is 748.2 CU
I have been working on this problem for 30 minutes and cannot come up with the correct answer.

  1. volume = base x height

    so you need the base of the hexagon, which consists of 6 equilateral triangles.
    Area of one of them = (1/2)(6)(6)sin60 = 15.588457

    so the base is 6 times that

    volume = 6(15.588457)(8) = 748.246
