Which of the following does NOT employ correct word usage?

A. The bluffs are so steep that they can't hardly be scaled, even by experienced climbers.
B. Boats carefully thread their way among the tricky and sometimes dangerous rocks and rapids in the Buffalo River.
C. Besides canoeists, builders and hotel chains are also interested in the Buffalo River.
D. Many of these developers find it hard to accept the strict rules that the government has placed on construction in the area.

I'm stuck between A and B?

Why do you think it could be A? Why do you think it could be B?

I would think it's A; shouldn't it be

can" instead of "can't"?

Sorry, Ms. Sue, your answer wasn't there yet when I was writing mine.

A. because "scaled" doesn't sound like the right word, or maybe it is.

B. because "among" doesn't sound right.

Both scaled and among are correct.

okay so "can't" and "hardly" are double negatives.

Right.
