  1. Be sure to compare your sentences with mine very carefully to catch all the large and small corrections made.

    We should reduce politicians' salaries.

I hate to eat sweets because They are not good for my teeth.

I am going to ban her from playing computer games.

I work only a few hours each month.

My salary is going to be reduced.

He played a judge on a TV show.

    They would ban fast-food restaurants.

When I eat sweets, my fingers become sticky.

Do we say: some kind of a show or some kind of show? That depends on the entire sentence; I can't tell from just part of a sentence.

can we use ban with ing? She banned smoking. Yes. The -ing word would then be used as a gerund, and it'd be used as a direct object in that sentence.

It would also be helpful to add WHERE she banned smoking -- such as "She banned smoking in her house." OR "She banned smoking in her car."

  4. Yes, "hate" can be used with a gerund (-ing verb form) or infinitive (to -- verb form). In either case (or if you choose to complete "hate" with a noun clause of some kind) that word/clause is serving as a direct object.

If you need information on gerunds, infinitives, or noun clauses, let me know.
