V=a^3

dV/da=3a^2

dV=3a^2*da

dv=vfinal-vinitial=3*8^2*(7.99-8)=3*64*( -0.01)= -1.92 in^3

By the way exact value is: 7.99^3-8^3=510.082399-512= -1.917601 in^3
