Hello! Can someone help with this? How did women come to wear jeans? Was it a sign of rebellion or sense of style or just a long lasting trend?

I'd say it was a sense of style.

When I was in college in the early 1950s, my boyfriend (later my husband) wore dungarees which were denim pants like jeans. We didn't consider his clothes cool at all. When our daughters were in their teens in the late 60s and early 70s, they were wearing Levi jeans and considered cool.

Here's a good website about the history of jeans.
