Hi Guys!

Okay sweet, here goes. I'm supposed to be keeping a research journal of my research. In it I like examine my research and process.

I've already done my Hypothesis. Under the topic of INITIAL THOUGHTS AND IDEAS I outlined why I chose the topic, what I think I need to prove and what else I should investigate and an essay format.

Is there anything else I need to include under Initial thoughts and Ideas?

Thanks!

ps. Any information on how I can turn the things I think I need to prove into focus questions?

Hi there!

When it comes to keeping a research journal, it's great that you've already started by outlining your initial thoughts and ideas. This section is meant to capture your reasoning behind choosing the topic, your objectives, and any additional aspects you plan to investigate. However, there are a few more things you could consider including in this section:

1. Background Information: Provide relevant background information about the topic you're researching. This will help contextualize your study and show your understanding of the subject matter.

2. Gap in Knowledge: Identify any existing gaps in current research or literature. This could be areas that have not been sufficiently explored or questions that have not been answered yet.

3. Research Questions: Alongside your list of things you think you need to prove, it would be helpful to convert them into specific research questions. A good research question is clear, concise, and focused on the problem you want to address or the hypothesis you want to test. These questions will guide your research and help you stay on track.

To turn your things to prove into focus questions, follow these steps:
- First, clarify the main objective or hypothesis that you want to prove.
- Then, break it down into smaller, more manageable questions that target specific aspects related to your objective.
- Make sure the questions are specific, measurable, and relevant to your research.

By including these elements in your initial thoughts and ideas, you will have a well-rounded section that sets the foundation for your research journal.

Good luck with your research, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
