/-8/+/5/ Simplify??? the lines are supposed to go straight but ya i cant find how to do this or the answer please HELP!!!

  1. The -8 would be 8 because anything outside the absolute value is positive. I get 13 at least the way I learned it.

    |5|=5

    |-8|+|5|=8+5=13

    || is absolute value of a number
