Okay, so I'm trying to get a job at this grocery store. And I have some questions which I don't get how to answer.

Here is an example of a cover letter I was given. (I'll post the first paragraph)

Dear Manager,

I am applying for the position as a salesperson at Petland. I frequently purchase pet supplies at the store, and always enjoy coming by to see the pets. I saw your job advertisement in the front window, and I would love to be an employee at this business!

Mine is right here.....

Dear Manager,

I would like to apply for the Grocery Store Cashier position you posted at BCjobs.ca. I have enclosed a resume for your review. I enjoy working with the public and want to continue to do with a outstanding company as I believe yours is.

My paragraph should consist of this..

Paragraph #1:
- what position you are applying for
-where you saw the job advertisement
-why you are interested in this job

My questions:

I want to add something like this in my paragraph:

....I frequently purchase pet supplies at the store, and always enjoy coming by to see the pets.

Could I say something like...

I always go grocery shopping, and Im used to the atmosphere there...??

Other question:

-why you are interested in this job

I find this job really interesting as Ive always wished to work at a grocery store, and your company is above all, so it would be fantastic if I get a chance to work with you. (Does this sound normal?)

"continue to do with a outstanding company " = add a word "so" or "that"

You are on the right track. Write your letter and someone here will be happy to proofread it.

Sra

Okay, if I post my whole letter on here, will it be kept private?

It won't be kept private; this is a public message board.

When writing a cover letter, it's important to personalize it and explain your specific interest in the job and company. Here's how you can answer the questions you have:

1. "I always go grocery shopping, and I'm used to the atmosphere there..." - While this statement mentions your familiarity with the grocery store environment, it does not articulate your interest in the specific job you are applying for. Instead, try to highlight your skills or experiences that make you a good fit for the role. For example: "As a frequent grocery shopper and someone who understands the needs and preferences of customers in a grocery store, I believe I would excel as a Grocery Store Cashier."

2. "I find this job really interesting as I've always wished to work at a grocery store, and your company is above all, so it would be fantastic if I get a chance to work with you." - While this statement reflects your interest in the job and the company, it could be further developed to show a deeper understanding of what specifically attracts you to the role. Consider highlighting aspects such as customer service, team collaboration, or any personal experiences that connect you to the grocery store industry.

For example: "I am genuinely passionate about providing excellent customer service and creating positive experiences for shoppers. Working in a grocery store environment has always appealed to me because I understand the importance of delivering friendly and efficient service. Being part of a reputable company like yours would enable me to further develop my skills and contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for customers."

Remember, it's important to be genuine and provide specific reasons for your interest in the job and company. This will demonstrate that you have taken the time to research and understand what the role entails and why you believe you would be a good fit.
