History

On a website I was doing research on, there is a section about the Social Revolutionary Party in Russia in the early 1900s, which has point form information on the party.

"Social Revolutionary Party:
-founded in 1901
-catastrophic overthrow tsardom
-most members were populists-they liked the "mir"-A Russsian communal village, and Marx and Engels
-did not believe capitalism had to precede socialism|
-wanted to strengthen mir and equalize peasants shares"

  2. You can learn a lot more about that party than "point form information" at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist-Revolutionary_Party

Their platform included asassination of members of the Tsarist government. That is probably what they refer to as "catastrophic overthrow tsardom".

The party participated in the Russian Revolution of 1917, but was superseded by Bolsheviks who believed in more radical land reform and dictatorship.
