why is 5^0=1
can you explain when (-3)^n is positive and when it is negative.
By definition, anything to the zero power is 1.
any real number taken to a positive power is positive.
Any negative number taken to even power is positive, if taken to a negative power, it is negative.
(-3)^2= +9
(-3)^3=-27
