Explain how John Hersey blended characteristics of fiction and nonfiction in Hiroshima. How does this combination of genres help Hersey convey his feelings about the atomic attack on Hiroshima? Write a short essay that explains your answer. Support your ideas with details from the selection.

HINT: Remember the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Discuss the feelings author may have, keeping in mind the theme (or lesson) he may be trying to convey in this story.
... i know you don't do our homeworks for us, but can u just plz give me an introductory lines to start my essay .. i am really confused of what to write as an introduction... plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

DON'T start any paper's first draft by writing the introduction! How can you introduce a paper that you haven't written yet?

Follow the writing process, whether you're writing for science, history, English, or whatever:

#1 - Prewriting: Brainstorm, research, plan, outline, thesis statement

#2 - Writing: Write first draft by starting with section II of your outline; write the introduction after the body of the paper is written; write the conclusion last.

#3 - Polishing: Revise, concentrating first on the body of the paper, then the intro, then the concl (revision = making sure ideas are logical and sequential and support your thesis); proofread (spelling, grammar, usage, etc.)

Do you have a thesis yet? Have you done your brainstorming (and maybe research) yet? Have you written an outline?

I. You can use this to get yourself started on a thesis statement: Many authors use historical events to develop their historical novels.

II. Please repost when you have a thesis statement drafted and at least a general outline.

Do not start with the introduction!

First, outline your answer and the reasons for it. Be sure to include details from the book to illustrate your reasons.

Next, write your thesis statement.

Then, write the body of your essay, using your outline as a guide.

After you've written the body of your essay, your introduction should be pretty easy.

Sure, I can help you with an introductory line for your essay. Here's one possible way to start:

"In his book Hiroshima, John Hersey skillfully combines elements of fiction and nonfiction to convey his deeply personal and emotional response to the devastating atomic attack on the city. By blending these genres, Hersey not only imparts factual information about the events but also creates a compelling narrative that captures the human impact and conveys his poignant message about the horrors of war and the resilience of the human spirit."

Feel free to modify this according to your own writing style and the specific points you plan to discuss in your essay.
