A polyhedron has 12 edges and 6 faces, how many vertices does it have?

  1. Euler's formula state that for a polyhedrons,
    V+F=E+2
    V=number of vertices
    E=number of edges
    F=number of faces

    Take a tetrahedron, which has
    6 edges, 4 vertices and 4 faces
    4+4=6+2

    For the given polyhedron,
    E=12
    F=6
    So solve for V in
    F+V=E+2
