I am trying to lable a Paramecium

I know for a plant cell, the outer "layer" is called the cell membrane.
what would the name for it be on a Paramecium? I have tried looking it up but the diagrams are confusing

thanks!

The pellicle is a stiff but elastic membrane that gives the paramecium its definite shape.

THANK YOU

When labeling a Paramecium, it's important to note that Paramecium is a single-celled organism belonging to the Protista kingdom. Unlike plant cells, Paramecia do not have cell walls, but they do possess a cell membrane, just like all other living cells.

To locate and label the cell membrane on a Paramecium, follow these steps:

1. Observe the Paramecium under a microscope and identify its shape, which is mainly elongated and cylindrical.
2. Focus on the outermost layer of the Paramecium's cell body, which appears as a thin, transparent boundary.
3. This thin layer is the cell membrane of the Paramecium.
4. To label it, draw a line or arrow pointing to the outer boundary of the cell, and write "Cell Membrane" next to it or above it.

Remember that the cell membrane of a Paramecium is responsible for separating the internal cytoplasm of the cell from the external environment.

If you're still having trouble understanding the diagrams you found while researching, it may be helpful to seek additional resources or consult a biology teacher or tutor for further guidance.
