Could someone remind me how to calculate this on the TI-84 Calculator:

Which buttons do I hit for this:
3 * 10^8/5.4 * 10^14 I'm inputting it and coming up with 5.55 E 21

It should come out to be 5.55 *10^-7 but I'm not doing the input correct
Please help

did you make sure to put parentheses around the second part after the division sign?

Thank you so much-that's what I was doing wrong

Sure! To correctly input the expression "3 * 10^8 / 5.4 * 10^14" into a TI-84 calculator and obtain the correct result of 5.55 * 10^-7, you need to use parentheses to indicate the order of operations. Here is the step-by-step process:

1. Start by entering the numerator of the expression, which is "3 * 10^8". To do this, press the following keys:
- Press "3", then followed by the "*" (multiplication) key.
- Press "10", then followed by the "^" (exponentiation) key.
- Enter "8" and press the ")" key to close the parenthesis.

2. Next, enter the denominator of the expression, which is "5.4 * 10^14". To do this, press the following keys:
- Press "5.4", then followed by the "*" (multiplication) key.
- Press "10", then followed by the "^" (exponentiation) key.
- Enter "14" and press the ")" key to close the parenthesis.

3. Finally, divide the numerator by the denominator to get the result. Press the "/" (division) key.

After following these steps, you should see the answer displayed as "5.55E-07" on the screen of your TI-84 calculator. The "E-07" represents the scientific notation for multiplying by 10^-7, which is the same as 10 raised to the power of -7.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
