When given a point on a graph, (3,5) and the slope (-2), how do I find another point on the graph?

  1. I assume you mean another point on the LINE.

    If it is a line, y=mx+b

    5=-2*(3) + b or
    b=11

    y=-2x + 11 So for any x on the line, compute the y.

    (y-5)/(x-3) = slope = -2
    y-5 = -2x + 6
