Informational Interview

Your final project for this course will be a 3- to 5-page paper that consists of the insights you have gained about yourself, your experience with this course, and the information you learned about your career choice during your informational interview.

Support your own ideas and statements with information from at least three sources (such as your reading assignments or learning activities from this course).

Be sure that you address the following points within your paper:

1. Provide an introduction to your paper.
* Introduce yourself and provide a summary of the main points of your paper.
2. Discuss your informational interview.
* What did you learn about your career options?
* How will your learning style, skills, and personality complement your professional choices?
* What will be some of your specific job duties and responsibilities?
* What skills do you need for this career and how do you plan to obtain these skills?
* What kinds of changes and challenges might you expect in this career?
* How does the information you obtained fall in line with your long-term professional goals?
* Research an organization or association whose mission is synonymous with your career goals. How might joining this organization enhance your career development?
3. Provide a conclusion for your paper.
* Summary of the main points of the paper.
* Leave the reader with something to ponder, such as the future of your career or profession.

Project Guidelines:

* Title page (your name, title of project, course, section number)
* 3–5 pages
* Double spaced
* Times New Roman or Arial
* 12-point font
* Include three sources of information

Submitting your Project

Put your project in a Word document. Save it in a location and with a name you will remember, using the following naming convention: username-project-unit9.doc.

When you are ready to submit it, click on the Dropbox and complete the steps below:

* Click the link that says Submit an Assignment.
* In the "Submit to Basket" menu, select Unit 9: Final Project.
* In the "Comments" field, include at least the title of your paper.
* Click the Add Attachments button.
* Follow the steps listed to attach your Word document.
* To view your graded work, come back to the Dropbox or go to the Gradebook after your instructor has evaluated it.
* Make sure that you save a copy of your submitted project.
