Write a 350- to 500-word statement that reflects on how your ethnicity influences your personal behavior, attitudes, and values.

While my ethnicity is important to me, it does not control me or who I am. Ethnicity can influence my personal behavior, attitudes, and values, though. I am an American, and I am proud of this. My ancestors were from many different countries and include many different ethnicities, including German, Chinese, Irish, and Native American. Although I have ancestors from all over, I was born and raised in America, as were my parents, so I consider myself only American.
Personal behaviors and attitudes reflect the character and personality of an individual. Therefore, I try to treat every individual I encounter the way I would want to be treated. I believe that all individuals were created equal and should be treated fairly and justly. While discrimination is present in America, I believe that individuals should not be judged based on the color of their skin, their religion, the language they speak, or how they dress. I think that every person is unique and different, but this does not mean that they are better than me or that I am better than them.
The values and morals that an individual believes in reflect their ethnicity and culture, as well as their character and personality. My personal set of beliefs and values include helping others in need, religion, going to church, family and friends, donating, volunteering, and always striving to be the best that I can be in everything that I do. I grew up with these beliefs and still believe in them today. To me these values represent what America was built on and reflect the American way.
I am a Christian, and my religion is very important to me. My beliefs and values coincide with my religion. I believe that everyone faces struggles in life, but with determination, dedication, and hard work, many of these struggles can be overcome. I do believe that as an American, I should help others that are facing harder situations than I am, whether this is by donating my time, money, or materials to those in need or volunteering. I also believe that family and friends are very important. My friends and family have pushed me to do my very best in school and work. In addition, family and friends are there for support, care, and love.
While I am an American, I have faced many struggles in my life, but I know that these situations could have been much worse if I were not an American or white. For this reason, I do not look down upon other races and ethnicity groups, but I try to help them in any way that I can. I believe that all Americans should have good moral character, personal behavior, attitudes, and values. Personal behavior, attitudes, and values define a person and reflect their true character, which is why I always strive to do my best and treat others as equals.

This is what I have. Does it sound okay?

... that they are better than I am or that I am better than they are.

"The values and morals that an individual believes in reflect their ethnicity and culture, as well as their character and personality."

The content of your paper is fine. Don't change it! Just fix the mechanical things.

Thank you very much, Writeacher. I corrected the mechanical errors in my paper. Thank you again for pointing these out!

Yes, your statement reflects on how your ethnicity influences your personal behavior, attitudes, and values. It outlines how your diverse ethnic background has shaped your identity as an American, and how you prioritize treating all individuals with fairness and respect, regardless of their ethnicity or background.

You also mention how your personal behaviors and attitudes are guided by the belief in treating others the way you would want to be treated yourself. This highlights the value you place on equality and fairness. Additionally, you discuss the importance of your values, which include helping others, practicing your religion, and maintaining close relationships with family and friends. These values align with your ethnicity and cultural background.

You acknowledge that although you have faced struggles in life, you recognize that others may face even greater challenges based on their race or ethnicity. This awareness motivates you to support and assist those in need, showing empathy and compassion towards people from different backgrounds.

In conclusion, your statement effectively reflects on how your ethnicity influences your behavior, attitudes, and values while emphasizing the importance of treating others with respect, embracing diversity, and upholding the values that you believe reflect the American way. Well done!
