NaOH (aq) + Zn (solid) reaction

I don't know at what level you are but there are several ways to leave this equation. I will assume you know a little about complex ions.

Zn(s) + 2H2O(l) + 2 OH^-(aq) ==> H2(g) + Zn(OH)4^-2(aq)

If you wish a molecular equation,
Zn(s) + 2NaOH(g) ==> H2(g) + Na2ZnO2(aq)
although ZnO2^-2 is an older way of writing it. The ionic equation above is closer to what is going on in the reaction.
