Given 20.0 L of ammonia gas at 5C and 730 torr, calculate the volume at 50C and 800 torr

  1. Use PV = nRT. Don't forget T must be in Kelvin.

  2. I've got 21.2L, but supposedly correct answer is 21.7L. How?

  3. Unless I've missed something, the correct answer is 21.2 L. I think the book answer is not correct.
    You can also use the general formula of
    (P1V1/T1)=(P2V2/T2) which has no n in the formula. The advantage of using this one is that one calculation does it whereas when using PV = nRT one must do two calculations.
    The P1V1/T1 formula also gives 21.2 L.
