order the fractions from greates to least. 1/6, 2/7, 1/5.

Can anyone help and explain this to me please

if you find the decimal value for each of these you will be able to easily tell the order.

for example: the decimal value for the fraction 3/4 is .75

hope this helps!

well you have to make the fractions have the same denominator so the easiest would probably be to multiply 1/6 by 5/5 to give you 5/30 and then multiply 1/5 by 6/6 to give you 6/30 so you know 1/5 is bigger than 1/6 then you could multiply 2/7 by 5/5 to give you 10/35 and then multiply 1/5 by 7/7 to give you 7/35 so you know 2/7 is bigger than 1/5. so in order from greatest to least it would be 2/7, 1/5, 1/6

how would i convert to decimal?

Convert to decimals by dividing the numerator by the denominator.

Example:
1/6 = 0.166666

2/7 = 60/210

1/5 = 42/210

1/6 = 35/210

ORDER: 2/7, 1/5, and 1/6.

Certainly! To order fractions from greatest to least, you need to compare their sizes. The easiest way to do this is to find a common denominator for all the fractions and convert them to have the same denominator. Then you can simply compare their numerators.

In this case, the denominators are already different (6, 7, and 5), so we need to find a common denominator. To do this, we can find the least common multiple (LCM) of these three numbers, which is 210.

To convert the fractions to have the same denominator, we need to multiply each fraction by a form of 1 that will change its denominator to 210:

For 1/6: To get a denominator of 210, multiply both the numerator and denominator by 35 (which is 210 divided by 6). This gives us 35/210.

For 2/7: To get a denominator of 210, multiply both the numerator and denominator by 30 (which is 210 divided by 7). This gives us 60/210.

For 1/5: To get a denominator of 210, multiply both the numerator and denominator by 42 (which is 210 divided by 5). This gives us 42/210.

Now that all the fractions have the same denominator, we can compare their numerators: 60/210, 35/210, 42/210.

To order them from greatest to least, we rearrange the fractions based on their numerators:

60/210 > 42/210 > 35/210.

So, the ordered fractions from greatest to least are 2/7, 1/5, and 1/6.
