  1. a. d^2 = (2 - 1)^2 + (-1 -(-7))^2,
    d^2 = 1 + 36 = 37,
    d = 6.1.

    b. d^2 = (1 - 0)^2 + (3 - 0)^2,
    d^2 = 1 + 9 = 10,
    d = 3.16.

    c. d^2 = (9 - 6)^2 + (6 - 9)^2,
    d^2 = 9 + 9 = 18,
    d = 4.2.
