Advertising costs for the save more store increases by about 32,000 per year, 352,000 was spent on advenrtising in 1992, write an equation that gives the amount spent as a function of the number of years since 1980.


So, you get.
Y=32000x

But, I don't know exactly where to go from there, could someone help me please?

  1. straight line, y = m x + b

    y = year - 1980
    in 1992 y = 12

    C = 32,000 y + b

    352,000 = 32,000 * 12 + b
    b = (352-32*12)1000 = -32,000
    so
    c = 32,000 y - 32,000
    or
    c = 32,000 (year-1980) -32,000
