Why would Magnesium (Mg) be unable to combine with Chlorine (Cl) to make a compound?
1 answer
It takes some energy, called the activation energy, that must be attained before a reaction takes place. If the activation energy is not present, no reaction takes place although we might predict that a reaction would occur.
