Can you please tell me which of the following alternatives are possible?
1) Which is the lowest mark a student can be given in the USA? (I really need to know the answer to this question).
2) If I catch you cheating, I'll give you the lowest possible (?) mark./ your text won't be assessed (won't be given a mark).
3) A light hangs from the ceiling.
4) My town lies on a river (is on the river Thames, is crossed by the river Thames). The river Thames flows in Alba.

Different schools and districts have different grade scales. Pretty much common to all, though, is the zero! Some would also say "F" but in the district where I taught, and F was anywhere between 0 and 59. For my grandchildren, an F is anywhere between 0 and 69. So you'd need to know which school or district to ask about.
