Any one got any book recommendations for a 8th to 9th grader?

This is an excellent reading list. It says for "college bound" students, but really, it's an excellent list for everyone.

For an 8th-9th grader, I'd stay within the American Lit section. If a title and short description seems appealing, then go to Wikipedia or Google to find out more about it -- or you could pick a title randomly and just dive in!

=)

Check these sites for many book recommendations.

When i was in eigth grade i really started getting into an author named Agatha Christie. She writes murder mysteries. I would read either And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians), Death in the Clouds, or Murder on the Orient Express.

Certainly! Finding the right book for an 8th to 9th grader can be based on their personal interests and reading level. Here's a step-by-step process to help you find book recommendations:

1. Determine their interests: Consider what genres, topics or themes the student enjoys. Do they like adventure, fantasy, mystery, or historical fiction? Do they have any specific interests like science, sports, or animals that could guide book choices?

2. Consult book lists: Many educational websites, libraries, and bookstores provide book lists specifically targeting this age range. Websites like "Goodreads" or "Scholastic" offer curated book recommendations categorized by age and genre.

3. Seek recommendations: Ask teachers, librarians, or parents of adolescents for book recommendations. These individuals have experience and might suggest books that have been successful with other kids their age.

4. Read reviews: Read short reviews or summaries of books to get an idea of what they entail. Websites like "Common Sense Media" provide detailed information about a book's content to ensure it's appropriate for the reader's age.

5. Sample books: Let the student read book excerpts before committing to a purchase. They can visit libraries or access ebook samples online to get a sense of the writing style and see if it resonates with them.

Some popular book recommendations for 8th to 9th graders include "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins, "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series by Rick Riordan. However, it's essential to tailor the choices to the individual's interests and reading level.

Remember that reading should be an enjoyable experience, so encourage the student to explore different books until they find the ones that captivate their imagination!
