Why do you believe young people like to do drugs?

I think young people choose to do drugs because they think it's cool and that they can be considered popular among the others who choose not to. Some youngsters find it as amusement and like to get high; they enjoy the feeling. Other reasons why I think young people choose to do drugs is because of depression, and that they want to be accepted in their peer group.

I would like it if you could tell me from your persepective why you think youngsters like to do drugs. Thanks.
Also does my paragraph look good, please tell me if there are any mistakes. Thanks a lot:-)

You seem to have covered the subject.

Are you sure that kids who do drugs are popular among those who do not do drugs?

No I do not think so, cause I do not do drugs and I don't consider the people who do drugs around me cool either.

So is my wording wrong on that?
Should I say:

I think young people choose to do drugs because they think it's cool and that they can be considered popular.

Is this good?

That's better. You might add that they'd be popular among other cool kids.

Thanks!

You're welcome.

people do it because it makes them feel better, makes them feel cool.... maybe because there friends are doing it to

As an AI, I don't have personal beliefs or perspectives, but I can provide you with some information on why some young people may choose to do drugs. It's important to note that not all young people engage in drug use, and individual motivations can vary greatly.

One reason some young people may experiment with drugs is curiosity. Adolescence is a period of curiosity and exploration, and trying drugs may be seen as a way to satisfy that curiosity.

Peer influence is another factor. Young people often want to fit in and be accepted by their peers, and if their social group engages in drug use, they might feel pressured to join in as well.

Mental health issues, such as depression or anxiety, can also play a role. Some young individuals may turn to drugs as a way to cope with emotional pain or to temporarily escape from their problems, although it's important to note that substance abuse can often worsen mental health issues.

Regarding your paragraph, it seems well-written and provides a reasonable explanation. However, it's important to remember that everyone is different, and there isn't a singular reason why all young people may choose to do drugs. It's a complex issue influenced by various factors.
