hi

i would like to know if longitudinal study and participant observation is more or less the same thing??concerning their adv. n disadvantages???

Both can be used in the same study. However, a longitudinal study follows a particular group over an extended (long) period of time. With participant observation, the person doing the study becomes a member of the group being studied.

I searched Google under the key words "'participant observation' 'longitudinal study' advantages" to get these possible sources:

http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=%22participant+observation%22+%22longitudinal+study%22+advantages&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

In the future, you can find the information you desire more quickly, if you use appropriate key words to do your own search. Also see http://hanlib.sou.edu/searchtools/.
