Members of the _____ generate more mail to Congress than any other group.

a. NRA
b. ACLU
c. NAACP
d. AARP
e. NEA

I cannot find the answer for this, please help

Elections are

a. a means by which government controls the people.
b. a means by which the people control government.
c. the only popular form of participation that in most democracies involves a majority of citizens.
d. All of the answers are correct.
e. None of these answers is correct.

I would say D, but it's confusing

I'm going to guess the AARP. Most (or at least many) people over 50 belong this organization that advocates for older people. Since these people are so numerous and generally have spare time, this is the group that probably generates the most mail.

Oh, my goodness! Did you read the question about elections? How can they all be correct when a and b are polar opposites?

I did, but there's 1 part in the book say:

"Although the vote gives citizens a degree of control over government, the vote also gives government control over citizens."

That's what got me confused.

Should the answer be C then?

I don't like c either. Only 56.8 % of voting age citizens voted in the 2008 election.

B. is the best answer in my opinion. I don't see how the government gains any control over citizens in an election.

To find the answer to this question, you can start by researching each of the organizations mentioned and finding information about their mailing activities to Congress. You can do this by searching for each organization's name along with phrases like "mail to Congress" or "lobbying efforts."

Additionally, you could look for reports or studies that track and compare the amount of mail received from different groups by Congress. These reports might provide data or rankings that can help determine which group generates more mail.

Remember that the answer to this question may vary depending on the time period, the specific congress being referred to, or other factors.
